Weight: started the month at 5lb, 12oz (<1st percentile) -- ended the month at 7lbs, 12oz (8th percentile)! Two full pounds. We could see her little rib cage when she was first born, now we joke her double chin has a double chin. We are proud of our plump little peanut.
Height: The hospital said she was 18 inches when she was born. Our pediatrician swears she is 21 inches long now and there is no way she grew 3 inches in 30 days. So who knows?!
Clothes: She wore premie and newborn clothes this month, same for diapers. She outgrew the premies by about week 3. We'll be in 0-3 month clothes soon!
Nicknames: Itty Bitty Libby (not anymore!), Little Bird, Bug, Sweat Pea, Poopsy, Stinker, Libster, Liberator, Pumpkin Seed
Likes: bright lights, the mirror, her swing, bouncing on the exercise ball with dad (he bounces much higher than mom does), baths (mostly), her carseat (when the car is moving), mom and dad's bed, her amoxicillin (she really loves it, it's like dessert), the vacuum.
Dislikes: falling to sleep on her own or in her own bed, her gassy tummy, being swaddled, the silly headbands that mom makes her wear, getting her shirt pulled over her head (mostly due to parental clumsiness)
Highlights: Being born, coming home, all the attention and visitors, her first play date out of the house, surviving the first week home alone with mom, her first shopping trip, getting to be a champion feeder, playing on her playmat, outgrowing those tiny premie outfits, making mom and dad guess whether she is really smiling or just has gas

these are beyond adorable!!!! thank you so much for sharing the photos and the milestones. I love how you are really helping all of us get a sense of her life (and your lives!) right now. hugs to you all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post! It's so great that you're capturing these moments. Q was itty bitty at birth, too, and he grew almost 2 inches in 2 weeks, so it's totally possible that Libby grew 3 inches in a month. ... Or maybe it's just really hard to measure a squirming newborn baby. :)
